Budapest part 2

The next day, we decided to go to the Zoo.

Unfortunately, a few other people had the same idea...

We persevered, and eventually made it in.

Budapest 20081012-18-47_0091

A Penguin.

Budapest 20081012-18-48_0093

And this is where he came from! The map is upside-down, as its centered on Antarctica.

Budapest 20081012-18-51_0097

An unknown but awesome bird.

Budapest 20081012-18-53_0098

What a silly hair cut.

Budapest 20081012-18-59_0099

This little valley caught Toolmans attention.

Budapest 20081012-19-13_0105

The cute little critters were entertaining the crowds.

Budapest 20081012-19-16_0109

Nom! Nom!

Budapest 20081012-19-32_0114

Mum feeding the camels.

Budapest 20081012-19-32_0115

Princess' turn.

Budapest 20081012-19-36_0122

Mum making freinds with a Horsey.

Budapest 20081012-19-37_0124

Fat Pig!

Budapest 20081012-19-47_0128

More feeding.

Budapest 20081012-19-57_0139

This curious little fella came and said hi to us.

Budapest 20081012-20-15_0149

More cute things.

Budapest 20081012-20-57_0159

Giraffes!

Budapest 20081012-21-28_0163

This great ape came and eye-balled Toolman very closely, if the safety glass wasn't there, he'd have shat himself.

Budapest 20081012-21-30_0167

Orang-utan ...

Budapest 20081012-21-31_0171

... plus bucket ...

Budapest 20081012-21-33_0178

equals orang-utan in a bucket!

Budapest 20081012-21-37_0180

This beautiful Serval was only slightly larger then a domestic cat, but had very striking markings.

Budapest 20081012-21-40_0182

And this kitty is striking too!

Budapest 20081012-22-17_0197

We left just as the sun started setting.

We spent the evening in the Széchenyi Medicinal Bath; pure mineral relaxation.

It was amazing to relax in after all the walking we had done - the mineral baths soothed out our aches and pains. After the baths, we headed back to the apartment.

Next morning, we got up and went for a walk around the city.

This opportunity shop was an odd mix of styles. Sik Sik: American Hippie...

Budapest 20081013-15-30_0004

they got all your ganster/whiteboy angst tee shirt needs covered.

Budapest 20081014-20-30_006

Another place that we had a lookin was the library, a beautiful old building.

Budapest 20081013-16-41_0006

The foyer hosted a nice cafe, bustling with students.

Budapest 20081013-16-41_0008

Nice spiral staircase.

Budapest 20081013-18-19_0033

We came back to the Market halls, and this time it was open.

Budapest 20081013-17-07_0011

It is a building that is impressive in scale on the inside. Only 2 floors, with an incredible roof height.

Budapest 20081014-22-12_004

The ground floor was all kinds of food shops; fresh fruit and vege, butchers, lots of herbs, nuts ans pastes.

Budapest 20081013-18-08_0020

These are dried peppers, with garlic in the background. These are hangin everywhere .

Budapest 20081013-17-23_0015

The upstairs area was more tourist-oriented. This is the food section, but most of it is trinkets: ....?

Budapest 20081013-17-23_0012

Something about this meal looks a bit wrong.

Budapest 20081013-18-16_0025

We were not sure how to pronounce the name of this restaurant; both times Toolman tried to pronounce it, rude words came out.

Budapest 20081013-19-08_0043

After a mornings walking we crossed the road and went to The For Sale Bar. The ladies wanted to try Budapests' famous Goulash.

Budapest 20081013-18-58_0042

We sat down and ordered our meal. All the tables have free peanuts, and we all ate quite a few of them.

Budapest 20081013-18-57_0035

It got both thumbs up, a well received meal.

Budapest 20081013-19-10_0046

As our plane leaves mid-afternoon, we headed back to the apartment to check out and make our way to the airport. As booked, a nice taxi lady picked us up and drove us to the airport.
